One of New Zealand’s freshest photography magazines got us to do a mixtape for issue two, get it for free if you quick otherwise support the brother over at The Peeps and buy a copy

SUPPORT THE INDEPENDENTS is a new franchise. Kind of like THE ARC, its a philosophy that fits itself to whatever it needs to. The first edition is this Friday, a launch for Adam Bryce’s NZ-made worldwide fashion magazine, a kind of print extension of slamxhype.com, but also the best magazine on the market, I shit you not. Issue one features Comme Des Garcons, Mark Gonzales, Hiroshi Fujuwara, over 180 pages of CONTENT, not ads.
This mag wasn’t even going to come out in NZ, but seeing as most of the team working on it live here we felt it was only right. So this Friday will be the chance for Aucklanders to buy the mag before it is shipped overseas, and to come to a huge new gallery in the France St art district, by the Kings Arms.
Here is the facebook group, add yourself, tell your friends, come drink for free, but support actual cool shit in Ak. Without the independents, what do we have left?
Dan, resident snapper of THE ARC, who once said ‘That aint breakdancing, that’s broke dancing” just sent me this video of his worst nightmare. He’s never been to the south island… but he hears things. I bet he imagined some hoods on these guys who are gene-really fucking up the main street in Dunedin. So while our blog views are ’spiking like some gelled-tips’ (another Dan-ism), enjoy the carnage of the pride of the South.
New event posting later in the day, check back.
